JOB TITLE: Warehouse Assistant (Forklift Operator)

Purpose of Job

Under the direction of the Logistics & Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient stock control within the warehouse.

Basic Roles and Requirements

• A Valid Forklift Licence, any other licence would be advantageous.

• Ability to work under pressure, an eye for detail with a positive attitude.

• Fluency in English, Afrikaans & basic Xhosa is advantageous.

• Basic Knowledge Warehouse and Stock control

• Be a Team player Assistance to fellow employees during normal daily routines. Assist with enhancing the skills of your fellow colleagues and strive to create a friendly and respectful working environment.

• Attention to detail.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, unloading, counting and stocking physical inventory in the warehouse.

• Pick items according to the Picking Slip.

• Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.

• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.

• Inspect items to ensure they're not damaged or faulty and adjust inventory accordingly.

• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.

• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.

• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities.

• Assist walk in customers.

• Picking and wrapping orders for shipment.

• Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, inventory space and workstations neat, sweep.

• Always organise warehouse and work area for orderliness.

• Constantly work to improve processes.

• Make suggestions for productivity improvements.

• Communicate and collaborate with other team members.

• Perform stock takes Provisionally and monthly.
• Ability to be resilient, assertive, optimistic and open to change.

• Any other functions within reason that Management should wish to change or update.
