About the job Senior Refrigeration Technician
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
- Repair or replace defective components and parts of refrigeration systems, including but not limited to valves, motors, fans, and thermostats.
- Install new refrigeration systems according to blueprints, specifications, and manufacturer instructions.
- Conduct leak detection tests and perform necessary repairs to prevent refrigerant leakage and comply with environmental regulations.
- Calibrate and adjust refrigeration controls to maintain specified temperatures and humidity levels.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Stay updated on advancements in refrigeration technology and industry regulations to ensure compliance and enhance skills.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Extensive knowledge of refrigeration systems, including their components, functions, and operational principles.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting refrigeration equipment malfunctions.
- Experience in repairing and maintaining various types of refrigeration systems, such as commercial, industrial, and HVAC systems.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to refrigeration work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certification or licensure in refrigeration technology
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Preferred:
- Associate's degree or training in HVAC/R technology or a related field.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and inventory.
- Additional certifications or specialized training in specific refrigeration systems or equipment brands.
