Job purpose:
To provide the full spectrum of on-site Human Resources support to the Overland Division (Warehouse and Transport) – Inland, which includes the coordination and involvement in HR Administration, Recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, talent management and employee relations (including CCMA and NBCRFLI representation)
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 5 – 7 years HR related experience (Full circle of Human Resources) in a similar environment at a junior / mid managerial level and being able to demonstrate superior Human Resources specialist expertise and junior management ability
A proven track record and experience in managing labour relations in similar environment
Experience in SAGE People Management system and other HRIS would be advantageous

Main activities of this role:
1. Recruitment and Selection
Advertise vacancies on Career page
Screen candidates for suitability
Prepare longlist for business
Setting up of interviews
Make recommendations to management regarding the most suitable candidate
Perform the necessary checks – criminal, ID and qualification verification
Ensure that the starter pack is issued and completed by the new employee
2. Payroll Administration
Create new role on SAGE
Ensure that new employee's details is captured on SAGE
Ensure that new employee's documentation is uploaded on SAGE
Ensure payroll deadlines are met monthly
3. Human Resources Administration
Ensure that the correct paperwork is signed and returned for record purposes
Ensure that the new employee has a personnel file
Assist with the completion of the OL Division's Employment Equity requirements as and when required
Analyses exit interview questionnaires and provide
Play and active role om the Employment Equity and Training Committee
Responsible for the reviewing of allocated HR Policies annually
4. Benefit Administration
Ensure that the correct documentation for – retirement fund and medical aid is
completed, forwarded to payroll and kept for record purposes
5. Industrial Relations
Provide an advisory service to staff and management in matters pertaining to Industrial Relations, with specific reference to corrective action and disciplinary hearings
Brings to management's attention any areas of concerns / conflicts within the facilities
Attend disciplinary hearings, appeal and grievance hearings
Provides guidance, direction and support during disciplinary hearings, appeal hearings and grievances.
Ensure that both management and staff adhere to the IR Policy
Assist and advise on charges for disciplinary enquiries Maintain knowledge base with regards to changes on legislation, new developments and case law
Represent and act on behalf of the company at the CCMA and or NBCRFLI on matters which require mediation or arbitration
Other labour related matters pertaining to Section 197 and section 189
6. Reporting
Responsible for monthly reporting on new engagements, terminations, promotions and vacancies
Monitor labour broker appointments – to ensure that company is not at risk
