An established retail business in Port Elizabeth is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join its stores team. This role is ideal for an individual with previous receiving, stores, warehouse or stock control experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and ensuring stock is accurately received and controlled.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming stock and verify quantities against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damages, shortages and discrepancies.
- Capture and process stock receipts accurately.
- Ensure all stock is labelled, stored and controlled correctly.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory control procedures.
- Liaise with suppliers and transport companies regarding delivery issues.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe receiving area.
- Ensure compliance with company receiving procedures and standards.
- Assist with general stores and warehouse duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric
2 – 3 years' experience in a Receiving Clerk, Stores Clerk or Warehouse role
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Experience working with stock control systems advantageous
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Good communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Reliable transport to and from work
Advantageous
- Forklift licence
- Retail or FMCG receiving experience
- Exposure to inventory management systems
