Head of Platform Engineering

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Platform Engineering to lead our clients infrastructure and engineering excellence. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this leadership role is pivotal in shaping the strategy, scalability, and reliability of a world-class B2B SaaS platform. You will oversee platform architecture, DevOps, security, and infrastructure management, ensuring seamless service delivery across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Infrastructure

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for platform scalability, security, and observability.
• Lead cloud infrastructure strategy and optimize multi-tenant architectures for peak performance.
• Oversee Kubernetes clusters, container orchestration, and cloud-native architectures.
• Implement robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate deployments and scalability.

Reliability & Performance Optimization

• Own Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for key platform components.
• Establish comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime.
• Continuously optimize cost efficiency without compromising performance.

Security & Compliance

• Define and enforce security best practices, ensuring compliance with SOC 2 and global security standards.
• Lead security audits, vulnerability assessments, and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
• Implement data protection and encryption techniques to maintain platform integrity.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Manage and mentor a high-performing Platform Engineering, DevOps, and SRE team.
• Foster a culture of innovation, automation, and operational excellence.
• Partner with software engineering, product, and business teams to align platform goals with company strategy.

Developer Productivity & CI/CD

• Improve developer experience by enhancing CI/CD pipelines and streamlining deployment workflows.
• Lead GitOps best practices with tools such as ArgoCD for infrastructure automation.
• Define and standardize platform documentation, ensuring knowledge sharing and efficiency.

What Were Looking For

Technical Expertise

• 7+ years of experience in software development, platform engineering, or infrastructure management.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services (EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, Glue, Redshift, ElastiCache).
• Strong background in Kubernetes, containerization, and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Advanced proficiency with Python (backend); experience with JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus.
• Deep understanding of GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and cloud automation.
• Strong grasp of multi-tenant architectures, performance tuning, and cost optimization.

• Proven ability to lead teams and drive engineering excellence.
• Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating across engineering, product, and business teams.
• Hands-on mindset with a balance of strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
