Overview:

The General Manager - Sales (Automotive) will be responsible for the overall sales strategy, performance, and profitability of the automotive sales division. This role requires a proven track record in sales leadership, a deep understanding of the automotive industry, and the ability to drive revenue growth while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high-performing sales team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to maximize their potential.
  • Sales Performance: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and suppliers. Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Stay informed about industry developments and competitive landscape.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage sales budgets. Monitor sales expenses and profitability.
  • Sales Forecasting: Accurately forecast sales volumes and revenue to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on the company's product line and industry trends.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive sales management, preferably in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales CRM software.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience in a dealership or OEM environment.
  • Knowledge of automotive finance and leasing.
  • Experience with digital marketing and e-commerce.
