Overview:
The General Manager - Sales (Automotive) will be responsible for the overall sales strategy, performance, and profitability of the automotive sales division. This role requires a proven track record in sales leadership, a deep understanding of the automotive industry, and the ability to drive revenue growth while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high-performing sales team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to maximize their potential.
- Sales Performance: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and suppliers. Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Stay informed about industry developments and competitive landscape.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage sales budgets. Monitor sales expenses and profitability.
- Sales Forecasting: Accurately forecast sales volumes and revenue to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on the company's product line and industry trends.
- Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive sales management, preferably in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales CRM software.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- MBA or other advanced degree.
- Experience in a dealership or OEM environment.
- Knowledge of automotive finance and leasing.
- Experience with digital marketing and e-commerce.
