Your Role

Individual contributor position responsible for supporting the package development process on a tactical level and with specialty projects. This role provides systems support, coordination, and project management guidance for a specific category. This position works in a collaborative environment with internal partners in Design, Merchandising, Operations, Quality, Safety, Regulatory, and Sourcing, as well as key vendors. This role supports and learns the package development process, including, but not limited to technical drawing, fit and function evaluation and validation, tooling, testing procedures, and materials.

This role participates in supplier relations by supporting investigative study of packaging options for active projects and attending key business meetings and representing packaging through project execution through an engineering project management lens.

Your Impact

  • Provide engineering support of the development and production of products within a specific category.
  • Execute daily operations of category objectives.
  • Support the packaging execution and development of assigned programs, including tactical tasks and system data entry
  • Own the following system set-up and execution of: set up article tool Bill of Materials (BOMs); code creation; test orders/Package Evaluation Requests; specifications for fill and assembly; SOP standards; and component sample requests
  • Supports team with project management and information gathering
  • Vendor Engagement
  • Gather information and samples for R&D and/or packaging Test Lab
  • Partner with external component and contract fillers
  • Learn the package development process to become subject-matter-expert in core category.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation to continuously improve both creative and technical skills, fostering growth within oneself and the team.

Minimum Salary: $53,000.00
Maximum Salary: $60,125.00

Jill Frisch & Freeze Mart provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • BS Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of related experience with prior internship experience in package engineering
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or consumer goods/retail a plus
  • Ability to present complex information to non-technical cross functional associates
  • System and computer proficiency
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to achieve results
  • Ability to build and foster strong trusted advisor relationships with internal and external partners
