Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead production optimization efforts of all wells; identify and drive opportunities to increase production, enhance well EUR, reduce operating expenses and apply innovative technologies.
- Artificial lift selection, design, and troubleshooting: primarily gas lift, plunger lift and rod lift systems.
- Develop choke management strategies for new development.
- Monitor, record, and report new well performance.
- Identify well servicing opportunities for maintenance and artificial lift improvements.
- Provide engineering support to field staff as they troubleshoot problematic wells.
- Perform economic analysis and write project AFEs.
- Ensure State and Federal compliance of all area wells.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the field operations team.
- Provide support or lead other special projects as required
- Participate in VEBTs Health, Safety, and Environmental program and insure that EHS&G standards and policies are being followed.
- Reduce VEBTs total emissions to help achieve net-zero status.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently in a team environment.
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with VEBT Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.
- Assure work performed adheres to VEBT standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication, attention to detail and organizational skills is a must.
- Ability to meet deadlines and advance multiple projects concurrently.
- Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with VEBT Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in petroleum engineering or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in exploration and production
- Experience with oil production facilities preferred but not required.
- Experience in tight-oil plays preferred but not required.
