The Production Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the manufacturing processes and making sure those processes meet or exceed internal and external customers expectations. The Process Engineer helps develop the plants product specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and monitor production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.
- Conducts investigations, provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities.
- Demonstrate dedication to the EH&S and continuous improvement programs by aligning with all policies and procedures, finishing the required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
- Initiate projects to reduce waste, optimize productivity and improve quality.
- Monitor daily production volumes for discrepancies.
- Assist in safety programs, such as ISO 14001
- Track and analyze root cause for process upsets, equipment failures, near misses and safety incidents to eliminate repeat failures and capture and communicate learnings in team training
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
+3 years experience of industrial experience
Experience in assisting in the analysis and optimization of products/processes/projects
Experience with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
