Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performing standard analyses of samples from raw materials from suppliers
• Reporting deviations by monitoring the quality of the product and trouble-shooting possible causes for the change and reporting this to operations.
• Identifying trends in quality of the product, performing additional tests and reporting to management.
• Running calibration of test equipment according to defined frequency.
• Identifies and solves simple problems in the laboratory, such as ensuring sufficient lab supplies and reagents are available to perform assigned tasks.
• Perform various studies and perform statistical analyses to improve quality.
• Maintain recordkeeping systems in the Laboratory for analytical data and Lab operating statistics, to support plant operations and customer specification requirements.
• Maintains the Labs ISO 9000 Quality System with the support of Laboratory Supervisor.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' of prior laboratory experience in chemical analysis, safe chemical handling, and general knowledge of laboratory procedures.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geology, Laboratory Science or Engineering is required.
• Extensive knowledge of analyzing methods, analyzing equipment, quality, safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong computation skills with close attention to detail
