Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze political and economic situation to build understanding and support of the company's strategy and supporting initiatives, including the company’s energy transformation strategy.
  • Collaborate in press releases and media interviews (local, regional, national and trade) to analyze the effects on the economy for businesses, state and local government and schools.
  • Provide counsel to business groups and senior leaders in the international geopolitical context.
  • Prepare reports, case studies, presentations, talking points, briefing documents and other communication materials for key segment managers for external opportunities.
  • Prepare business cases to support new investment, strategic, and other business decisions.
  • Provide insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Communicate results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation, and streamlining operations.


Qualifications

  • Minimum (5) five years’ related experience in government affairs, public policy, energy industry, especially oil and gas and other equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, journalism, finance, accounting or a closely related discipline
  • Ability to anticipate and interpret political developments, policy and legislative proposals
  • Ability to design and deliver pragmatic, fit-for-purpose strategies in line with business priorities and strategies
