Medical Laboratory Scientist

Duties and Responsibilities

- Performs moderate to high complexity testing and waived testing in all sections of the lab

- Performs quality testing and assesses acceptability of results to ensure accuracy of patient results generated by highly complex analyzers

- Performs patient and quality control (QC) testing, develops skills and maintains competency in routine and assigned laboratory areas.

- Maintains proper inventories and correctly uses supplies and reagents.

- Performs chemical, bacteriological, serological or microscopic laboratory test procedures on specimens in one or more laboratory sections.

- Oversee graphics collateral design and print management - must understand the graphics process and getting ideas from concept to completion – from designer to printer.

- Instruct laboratory staff and when required, resident physicians, in the performance of laboratory tests of all types which require a high degree of skill and training.

Qualifications

Two years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist 1 or equivalent experience
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or related science required
Demonstrated expertise in clinical laboratory science focused on Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology or Blood banking
