AI/ML Engineer VC-Backed Fintech Startup

Location: Remote (SF or LA Preferred) | Compensation: $170,000-$220,000| Startup Stage: Seed

What Will You Do?

• Design, build, and deploy AI/ML-driven financial automation and chatbot-based client solutions
• Optimize retrieval pipelines for RAG architectures and enhance LLM prompting techniques, including Tree of Thoughts, Constitutional AI, and agent protocols
• Implement AI agents using LangChain, AutoGen, or CrewAI to create intelligent financial decision-making tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models into a production financial services platform
• Work in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where you drive technical decisions

What Will You Need?

Must-Have:

• Degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field
• Three or more years in software engineering, with at least one year of hands-on experience with modern LLMs (Claude, GPT-4, Llama 3) or three or more years in AI/ML
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript
• Startup experience, preferably at a VC-backed tech startup, to demonstrate initiative and comfort with uncertainty
• Ability to work startup hours (50 to 60 per week) and sync with the Taiwan team daily at approximately 5 PM PT

Strongly Preferred:

• Computer science degree from a top-ranked university such as IIT in India
• LLM or chatbot experience and knowledge of RAG architectures
• Experience in multi-modal AI systems involving text, structured data, and numerical data
• Built AI agents with LangChain, AutoGen, or CrewAI
• Worked at a high-growth VC-backed startup or a company with a FAANG-level hiring bar
• Experience in modern fintech
