FLEXIBLE - you might find yourself on different ambulances, a chase car, and/or fire apparatus, all in the same shift.
Qualifications:
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Current NREMT Paramedic certification
- Current WV Paramedic certification, or the ability to obtain within 60 days
- Current CPR certification
- Completion of an approved Hazardous Material Awareness course
- Completion of an approved Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
- Valid Drivers License
- Firefighter I certification (WV, ProBoard, or another acceptable equivalent)*
- Firefighter II certification OR Vehicle & Machinery Rescue Operations*
**Applicants without fire training will be considered, provided they are willing and able to obtain the required training within 1 year of hire.
About JCESA:
We are WV's 1st career County Fire Department certified to offer both fire and EMS services. We offer top-notch equipment, the first ground RSI program in the state, excellent paid continuing education, a commitment to evidence-based medicine, and great customer service. We provide uniforms, excellent benefits to include a WVEMSRS retirement. 93% of our field staff work a 24/72 shift rotation. We operate a County owned 911 EMS system based out of VFDs across the County and utilize their fire apparatus to provide fire and rescue services to the community. Starting salary consummate with qualified previous career experience. Additional 3% COLA increase on July 1, 2025.
