About the Role
JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Expeditor to support the procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and documentation for mining and energy projects. This role may be based remotely or out of JDS's Vancouver office and will work closely with project, procurement, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure materials are delivered safely, on time, and in alignment with project schedules. The Expeditor plays a critical role in monitoring supplier performance, identifying risks to delivery, and driving proactive solutions to maintain schedule certainty. This position is well suited for a detail‑oriented professional with experience in mining or heavy industrial project environments who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced setting. Key Responsibilities
- Expedite purchase orders from award through delivery to ensure alignment with project schedules
- Liaise directly with suppliers to monitor fabrication progress, documentation, inspections, and shipment status
- Identify potential delays or risks to delivery and implement mitigation or recovery plans
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure timely review and approval of vendor data and documentation
- Work closely with quality and inspection teams to support inspections and address NCRs or technical issues
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate packaging, transportation, and site delivery requirements
- Maintain accurate expediting logs, dashboards, and KPIs to track material status and vendor performance
- Prepare and issue regular status reports to procurement, project management, and client teams
- Participate in supplier progress meetings and support pre‑award and post‑award supplier engagements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to expediting processes, tools, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, contractual obligations, and company standards
Package Details
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in expediting, materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles
- Previous experience supporting mining, energy, or heavy industrial projects is strongly preferred
- Experience working with materials management or ERP systems such as SAP, SmartPlant Materials, MatMan, or similar
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- Solid understanding of procurement, logistics, and project execution workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
