About the Role

JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support multiple ongoing projects based out of our Vancouver office with remote work and business a travel an option.

The Project Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring integrated project schedules across multiple concurrent projects. Working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams, this role is critical to ensuring alignment with key milestones, conducting schedule change impact analysis, supporting data-driven decision-making, and maintaining strong project controls standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project and maintenance schedules using Primavera P6
  • Support multiple active proposals, projects, ensuring consistency and integration across schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Perform performance measurement, forecasting, and variance analysis across cost, schedule, and productivity metrics
  • Track project progress using Earned Value Management (EVM), milestone tracking, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness teams to ensure alignment and timely information flow
  • Identify and communicate schedule risks and opportunities; participate in risk reviews and mitigation planning
  • Prepare and maintain monthly reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders and executive review
  • Work closely with project controls, operations, finance, and commercial teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning, scheduling, and reporting processes and tools
  • Ensure compliance with company and project-specific governance, procedures, and reporting requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Analytics, a related field preferred or demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in planning, project controls, or project analytics within mining, energy, oil & gas, or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, and analytical tools such as Excel and Power BI
  • Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and project performance analysis
  • Experience supporting multi-project environments is highly desirable
  • Experience in brownfield projects is considered an asset
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills

Compensation

  • Compensation will be provided as a competitive flat hourly rate
  • Hourly rate will be commensurate with the experience of the successful applicant
