About the job Contract and Procurement Manager
The Contract and Procurement Manager will support the procurement team on a mine construction project by executing purchasing activities. This role includes administrative responsibilities such as vendor onboarding, supplier communication, purchase order creation, and accounts payable (AP) coordination. The Buyer will enhance procurement responsiveness and provide redundancy to ensure business continuity in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing:
- Execute tactical purchasing for low-risk and lower-value materials, tools, and services in support of construction activities.
- Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods and services.
- Work with the procurement team to maintain contract compliance and supplier relationships.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with vendor setup, maintain supplier records, and manage supplier request forms.
- Track order status, shipping details, and resolve basic procurement or payment inquiries.
- Support coordination between procurement and accounts payable (AP) teams for invoice resolution.
Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with site teams, project controls, and warehouse staff to ensure alignment on materials needs.
- Provide redundancy support to the buying team during peak workloads or absences.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure procurement practices follow internal procedures and applicable policies.
- Support audit documentation and data entry into procurement systems.
Compensation

Work Schedule & Location
- Primarily site based or hybrid with travel to mine construction sites as needed.
Qualifications / Experience / Education Requirements
- 7+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in construction, mining, or industrial settings.
- Experience with vendor setup, purchase orders, and invoice follow-up.
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Diploma or certification in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
