About the Role
JDS Energy & Mining is seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to support the development of an underground mining project located in the interior of British Columbia. This is a camp-based, fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) position operating on a rotational schedule, with full camp accommodations provided while on site.The Document Control Specialist will be responsible for managing, tracking, and maintaining all project documentation to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with company standards. This role will primarily utilize the Omega 365 – Document Management module as the core document control system. Working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams, this role is critical to maintaining document integrity and supporting efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receipt, tracking, distribution, and filing of all project documents using Omega 365 – Document Management module
- Maintain document control systems in accordance with company and project requirements
- Ensure proper version control, revision tracking, and document numbering protocols
- Administer and maintain document workflows within Omega 365
- Distribute drawings, specifications, and technical documents to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Coordinate document workflows between engineering, procurement, and construction teams
- Perform quality checks to ensure document accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Maintain up-to-date registers for drawings, RFIs, submittals, and transmittals
- Support the preparation and issuance of reports, including document status and tracking logs
- Archive project documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
- Assist with audits and ensure document control processes meet compliance standards
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely document submissions
- Support continuous improvement of document control processes and systems
Package Details
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field
- 3–7 years of experience in document control, preferably in mining, construction, or engineering projects
- Demonstrated experience using Omega 365 – Document Management module is required
- Strong understanding of document control processes and systems
- Experience with additional document management software (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, Procore) is considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage large volumes of documents in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of project lifecycle documentation in mining or construction is an asset
