The Mine Infrastructure Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure required to support mining projects and site operations. This position works closely with engineering, construction, project controls, contractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure mine infrastructure is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Mine Infrastructure Coordination
- Lead and coordinate mine infrastructure activities including roads, access, drainage, water systems, utilities, site services, facilities, and other supporting infrastructure.
- Coordinate infrastructure scopes, priorities, resources, and interfaces across project teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical requirements to support effective project execution.
- Identify constraints, risks, and potential delays and coordinate solutions with the appropriate project teams.
- Support constructability reviews and infrastructure planning throughout project execution.
Engineering & Technical Coordination
- Coordinate infrastructure requirements between engineering disciplines, construction teams, vendors, and site operations.
- Review engineering deliverables, technical documentation, and design changes for alignment with project requirements.
- Coordinate technical queries, RFIs, design changes, and field issues.
- Ensure infrastructure interfaces are identified and effectively managed across disciplines.
Contractor & Site Coordination
- Coordinate contractors and subcontractors completing mine infrastructure works.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, progress, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, access, and site requirements.
- Participate in coordination meetings, site inspections, and construction planning activities.
- Support resolution of field issues and construction constraints.
Schedule, Cost & Progress
- Monitor infrastructure schedules, milestones, and critical activities.
- Track quantities, progress, productivity, and resource requirements.
- Identify schedule impacts, delays, and potential cost changes.
- Support cost tracking, forecasting, progress claims, and change management.
- Provide regular infrastructure status updates to project management and project controls.
Quality, Safety & Environmental
- Ensure infrastructure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, QA/QC requirements, and project standards.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, deficiencies, and non-conformances.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure work is performed in accordance with site safety requirements.
- Identify and address environmental risks associated with infrastructure activities.
- Support safety meetings, inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate infrastructure interfaces with mining, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process, environmental, and commissioning teams.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and project controls to maintain alignment.
- Communicate infrastructure status, risks, issues, and schedule impacts to project stakeholders.
- Support commissioning, turnover, and handover of completed infrastructure to site operations.

Qualifications/Experience/Education Requirements
- Diploma or university degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Mining Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in mine infrastructure, civil construction, project execution, or construction management.
- Experience working on mining, mineral processing, heavy civil, EPC, or EPCM projects is preferred.
- Experience with mine infrastructure including roads, drainage, water systems, utilities, site services, and facilities.
- Experience coordinating contractors, engineering teams, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and QA/QC requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with project controls, scheduling, cost tracking, or construction management systems is an asset.
