JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) Field Engineer to support safe and efficient field execution and quality assurance activities across mining and energy projects. This role is responsible for field engineering support and QA oversight for batch plant operations, piling works, and concrete installation, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and safety standards. The CSA Field Engineer works closely with engineering, construction, quality, and contractor teams to translate design intent into effective field execution. This position plays a key role in pre‑planning, daily construction support, documentation, and verification of CSA work. This is a site‑based, fly‑in/fly‑out (FIFO) position working a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (2x2) rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field engineering support for all CSA construction activities, with a primary focus on:
    • Batch plant operations
    • Piling works
    • Concrete placement and installation
  • Support pre‑planning and workface planning for upcoming CSA construction scopes
  • Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and applicable codes and standards
  • Perform QA/QC activities, including inspections, verification, and documentation
  • Review and track inspection and test plans (ITPs), concrete testing results, and quality records
  • Support contractor execution to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to specification
  • Identify, document, and assist in resolving field issues, RFIs, NCRs, and design clarifications
  • Maintain accurate field records, progress tracking, and as‑built documentation
  • Coordinate closely with CSA Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Construction Management
  • Interface with engineering teams to support constructability reviews, sequencing, and execution planning
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings and communicate field progress, constraints, and quality issues
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site safety policies and procedures
  • Support commissioning, turnover, and handover activities related to CSA scope

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in construction or field engineering with a strong focus on CSA scopes
  • Experience supporting CSA works on mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Hands‑on experience with:
    • Concrete works
    • Piling operations
    • Batch plant activities
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction procedures
  • Experience performing field inspections and quality assurance activities
  • Familiarity with construction documentation, including RFIs, NCRs, and turnover packages
  • Knowledge of construction safety practices, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Engineering degree, technical diploma, or equivalent industry experience in a related discipline
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and reporting systems considered an asset
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills
