Job Description:
The Site Services Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the general operations and maintenance of camp and site infrastructure and services on a remote mining or construction project. This role ensures that essential facilities and systems such as potable and waste water systems, power distribution, roadways, camps, and other utility services are operating reliably and efficiently. The Superintendent will manage site maintenance crews, coordinate contractor and vendor activities, and ensure safety and environmental compliance in support of project execution.

Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Utilities Oversight
- Manage the operation and maintenance of site infrastructure including power generation and distribution, potable water systems, sewage treatment, and fuel storage and distribution.
- Coordinate inspections, maintenance, and repairs of utility systems to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise installation and maintenance of temporary facilities such as laydowns, workshops, warehousing, and mobile offices.
Camp & Site Maintenance
- Ensure the upkeep and functionality of accommodations, kitchens, recreational facilities, and administrative buildings.
- Coordinate snow removal, road grading, dust control, and general road maintenance for safe and efficient site access.
- Manage waste disposal systems including hazardous and non-hazardous material handling.
Personnel & Contractor Management
- Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team including operators, mechanics, labourers, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate daily work schedules, assign responsibilities, and monitor performance to ensure productivity and adherence to project goals.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce briefings related to site services activities.
Planning, Procurement & Logistics
- Forecast equipment, materials, and manpower needs for ongoing site services activities.
- Coordinate with procurement to order and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
- Support mobilization and demobilization planning for camp and site infrastructure components.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture through active leadership and visible commitment to site safety practices.
- Ensure work activities are performed in compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and environmental permits.
- Participate in inspections, audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compensation
This is an hourly wage position with additional compensation for overtime, project-based performance incentives. Camp accommodations, meals, and travel to/from site are provided.
Work Schedule & Location
The role is based at a remote construction or mining project site. The typical rotation is 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (or as defined by project needs), with all site-based travel, meals, and accommodations provided.
