Job Description:
The Senior Contract Specialist will provide leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of procurement and contracting strategies on a mine construction project. The role will focus on formalizing Procurement Plans and Procedures, coordinating vendor engagement, and supporting contract execution aligned with project milestones and the broader Project Execution Plan.

Responsibilities
Procurement Planning & Strategy:
- Develop and formalize Procurement Plans and Procedures in alignment with project execution strategies.
- Support development of contracting strategies including contract packaging, timing, and execution readiness.
Vendor Coordination:
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure deliverables, quotes, and contract documentation are aligned with project milestones.
- Monitor vendor progress and resolve issues related to commercial terms, timelines, and compliance.
Contract Support:
- Support contract formation processes including RFQ/RFP development, evaluation, award, and kick-off.
- Provide guidance on contractual risk allocation and recommend appropriate contracting models.
- Assist with managing amendments, clarifications, and negotiations as required.
Execution Readiness:
- Coordinate between procurement, scheduling, and cost control functions to ensure aligned planning and milestone tracking.
- Support procurement and contracts reporting and contribute to project readiness reviews.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure internal procurement processes and controls are followed and appropriately documented.
- Maintain auditable records of vendor engagement, contract award decisions, and milestone tracking.
Compensation

- Travel and accommodation provided for periodic site visits or rotation, depending on project phase.
Work Schedule & Location
- Primarily office or hybrid based with travel to sites as needed.
- Monday to Friday schedule with flexibility during procurement peak periods.
Qualifications / Experience / Education Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in procurement and contract management roles on capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience supporting contracting strategies and complex vendor coordination.
- Strong understanding of procurement lifecycles, contract law, and project controls interface.
- Degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in MS Office, procurement tools, and ERP systems.
