JDS Energy & Mining is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and delivery of mining and infrastructure projects at an active mine site. This is a site-based role that works closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers, Contractors, Operations personnel, and project stakeholders to ensure project activities are coordinated effectively and executed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in supporting project controls, field coordination, contractor management, reporting, procurement, and construction execution. The ideal candidate is a Civil Engineer with experience in mining, heavy civil construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects and possesses strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of site-based construction and infrastructure projects
- Assist Project Managers and Construction Managers in monitoring project scope, schedule, budget, and performance objectives
- Coordinate daily project activities between contractors, consultants, operations personnel, and project stakeholders
- Track project progress and provide regular updates on schedule, cost, risks, and key milestones
- Support development and maintenance of project schedules, work plans, and execution strategies
- Coordinate field activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements
- Review drawings, specifications, technical documents, and construction work packages to support project execution
- Assist with contractor management, including progress tracking, field coordination, and performance monitoring
- Support procurement activities, including coordination of material deliveries, equipment requirements, and contractor resources
- Participate in site inspections, field reviews, and construction quality verification activities
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action logs, reports, RFIs, submittals, and change management records
- Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, and budget monitoring
- Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support constructability reviews
- Participate in project risk assessments and support identification and mitigation of project risks
- Support permitting, environmental, and regulatory compliance activities as required
- Assist with project commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities
- Foster positive relationships with operations teams to minimize disruptions and ensure successful project integration
- Ensure all work is conducted safely and in alignment with company policies, procedures, and project objectives
Package Details
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada is considered an asset
- 3–8 years of experience supporting mining, heavy civil, infrastructure, industrial, or construction projects
- Experience working at active mine sites is considered a strong asset
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices, including earthworks, site development, concrete, drainage, roads, and infrastructure
- Experience coordinating contractors and field construction activities
- Familiarity with project management principles, scheduling, cost control, and project reporting
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with project management and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements within mining or industrial environments
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work at remote mine sites
