Job purpose:

  • Manages human resource function by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and development and retention of employees in alignment with the company strategy.

Human Resources Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Enhances the organizations human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counselling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analysing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
  • Establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Manages employee pay grades by conducting periodic pay surveys.
  • Collaborate with management to develop KPIs aligned with the business strategy, implement, monitor and appraise employee performance.
  • Responsible for all company disciplinary actions, including hearings, dismissals, retrenchments, CCMA and Labour court matters. Hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counselling employees and supervisors.
  • Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable BCEA requirements and managing all Department of Labour audits and queries.
  • Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records as per legal requirements.
  • Management of full payroll and related matters.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualification/Knowledge/Experience

  • A relevant Degree in Human Resources.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a management and similar position.
  • Knowledge of all labour related legislation.
  • Experience with CCMA and Labour Court cases.
