Role Overview:
Country Manager - SG
The Country Manager is responsible for leading and managing the operations, business development, and strategic initiatives of the company. This individual will act as the key representative of the company in the region, driving business growth, profitability, and market expansion.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Development:
- Develop and implement the country's business strategy in alignment with the company's global objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities and drive the expansion of the business in new markets and regions within the country.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key local stakeholders, partners, and clients.
- Set targets for revenue and profit growth, and manage the P&L for the country operations.
- Oversee competitive analysis and market trends to ensure the company maintains a competitive advantage.
2. Operational Management:
- Manage day-to-day operations in the country, ensuring smooth and efficient processes across all departments.
- Oversee the implementation of operational policies and ensure compliance with local regulations and laws.
- Led cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, and Customer Service, to achieve business goals.
- Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
3. Team Leadership & Talent Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing team by recruiting, training, and developing talent across the country's operations.
- Establish and foster a positive organizational culture that aligns with company values and objectives.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and professional development to direct reports and other team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage team performance to achieve both individual and organizational goals.
4. Financial Management & Budgeting:
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company's financial targets.
- Monitor financial performance, managing costs and maximizing profitability within the region.
- Analyze financial reports, track key financial metrics, and recommend actions to improve financial health.
- Ensure timely reporting to senior management and shareholders.
5. Market & Customer Relationship Management:
- Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key local customers, stakeholders, and industry influencers.
- Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies tailored to local market needs and cultural preferences.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and take proactive measures to ensure high levels of customer loyalty.
6. Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with local legal, regulatory, and tax requirements.
- Identify potential business risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Work with the legal and compliance teams to navigate any issues related to contracts, intellectual property, and labor laws.
7. Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular reports on business performance, market trends, and operational challenges to senior management.
- Communicate key initiatives, progress, and results with global teams, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Act as the key liaison between the local country office and corporate headquarters.
Skills and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a senior management or leadership role, preferably with experience in managing operations and a proven track record.
- Fluent in English communication skills
- Proven experience from an IT Consultant company with Project Manager experience would be more considerable
- Travel required within the country and possibly internationally.
- Flexible working hours with occasional evening or weekend work especially during the peak season.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L management.
- Knowledge of local market dynamics, culture, and business practices.
