What We Need From You:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related construction industry qualification.
  • Solid experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, with a good understanding of construction and engineering processes and contracts.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and experienced with industry project accounting software (e.g., COINS, REDSKY) and management tools (e.g., FOUR PROJECTS, ASTA Powerproject).
  • Chartered membership of the RICS (or equivalent) is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Project Financial Success: Oversee the commercial functions of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with clients, colleagues, suppliers, and subcontractors to determine and fulfil the financial requirements of each project.
  • Contractual Expertise: Provide pre-contract support, including risk and opportunity analysis, and manage contracts in line with specific conditions (NEC, Bespoke, JCT, etc.).
  • Dynamic Change Management: Work closely with clients to navigate changes in project scope, addressing questions and clarifications during the bidding process and throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Seamless Project Handover: Facilitate the smooth transition of projects from the pre-construction phase to the construction team.
  • Financial Vigilance: Develop and manage cash flow based on project plans, conduct timely cost-to-complete analyses, and ensure robust, accurate reporting at both project and business unit levels.
  • Supply Chain Leadership: Conduct pre-start meetings with the supply chain, prepare and issue contracts for subcontractors, and manage them from commencement through to final account.
  • Proactive Procurement: Oversee project procurement, including purchase orders and invoice approvals, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Comprehensive Measurement: Complete project re-measurements, capture and evaluate variations, and compile final accounts, negotiating to an agreement with support from senior management when necessary.
