About the job Frontend Architect
Our client is a global mining company securing the critical minerals behind the energy transition, including copper, cobalt, nickel, tin, and rare earths; they invest in and operate premium mining assets.
They are seeking an experienced Frontend Architect with strong hands-on expertise in React, TypeScript, micro-frontend architecture, and modern frontend engineering practices. The ideal candidate should have experience designing and building scalable, modular, and maintainable frontend platforms for complex enterprise applications.
The role requires strong knowledge of frontend architecture, component libraries, state management, performance optimization, API integration, authentication, and UI platform standards. Experience or working knowledge of Unity3D, WebGL, Three.js, Babylon.js, Unreal Engine, or similar 3D visualization technologies will be an added advantage.
The Frontend Architect will be responsible for defining the frontend architecture, design patterns, reusable components, micro-frontend strategy, coding standards, and technical direction for industrial digital applications, dashboards, control room interfaces, and 3D visualization experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Frontend Architecture Ownership
- Define and own the frontend architecture for scalable enterprise and industrial software platforms.
- Architect and implement micro-frontend solutions that support independent development, deployment, and evolution of multiple application modules.
- Define frontend integration patterns between micro-frontends, shared shell applications, common libraries, design systems, authentication services, APIs, and backend platforms.
2. Development & Component Engineering
- Design and implement modular frontend applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Build reusable UI components, frontend libraries, layout frameworks, and common engineering patterns.
- Ensure frontend applications are designed for performance, scalability, maintainability, security, usability, accessibility, and long-term platform evolution.
3. Visualization & User Experience
- Contribute to architecture for dashboards, operational views and 3D/interactive user experiences.
- Evaluate and guide the use of Unity3D, WebGL, Three.js, Babylon.js, Unreal Engine, or similar technologies for 3D visualization and interactive industrial applications.
4. Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide hands-on technical leadership to frontend development teams through design reviews, code reviews, technical guidance, and mentoring.
- Work closely with product owners, UX designers, backend architects, QA teams, and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust frontend solutions.
Key Qualifications
- 12+ years of frontend software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in React, TypeScript, micro-frontend architecture, scalable UI platforms, and enterprise web applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend development practices. React and TypeScript are mandatory.
- Experience designing and implementing micro-frontend architecture using approaches such as Module Federation, single-spa, web components, or similar frameworks. (Mandatory)
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture patterns, reusable component design, application shell architecture, and shared library management.
- Experience with state management libraries.
- Strong knowledge of frontend routing, API integration, authentication flows, role-based access, and secure frontend application design.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, SignalR, or real-time data services.
- Good understanding of responsive design, accessibility, browser compatibility, and cross-device user experience.
- Experience with frontend performance optimization, lazy loading, bundle optimization, caching, memory management, and rendering performance.
- Strong experience with frontend testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control, code quality tools, and release management.
Key Competencies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with architects, developers, product owners, UX teams, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
