Our client is a multinational conglomerate based in Africa and is undertaking a strategic initiative aimed at unlocking the continent's potential in mineral and metal transformation and processing.
They are seeking an experienced CEO to lead its Aluminium Smelting Plant in Cameroon. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a strong background in metals, aluminium processing, and large-scale plant operations. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a proven track record in strategic management, operational excellence, and business expansion within the aluminium industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the overall business strategy to enhance profitability, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee plant operations, ensuring optimal production efficiency, quality control, and cost-effectiveness.
- Financial & P&L Management: Drive financial performance, manage budgets, and ensure revenue growth.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, investors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards for sustainable operations.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead a diverse workforce, fostering a high-performance culture and leadership pipeline.
- Expansion & Innovation: Identify growth opportunities, drive R&D initiatives, and enhance technological advancements in aluminium smelting.
Key Qualifications
- 15+ years of leadership experience in aluminium smelting, metallurgy, or heavy industrial operations.
- Strong P&L management, business strategy, and operational expertise in the metals sector.
- Experience in managing large-scale smelting plants and optimizing production processes.
- Deep knowledge of aluminium refining, electrolysis, and casting technologies.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills with government and private sector entities.
- Previous experience in Africa or emerging markets is highly preferred.
