Our client is a Nature Tech company specializing in tech solutions for biodiversity measurement and reporting. They develop AI-powered biodiversity reporting tools to analyse data from camera traps, bioacoustics, eDNA, and satellite imagery. By partnering with sectors facing environmental compliance requirements including forestry, mining, oil & gas, and infrastructure, as well as NGOs and government agencies, our client enables sustainable data driven environmental reporting.
They are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Head of Business Development to spearhead their international growth.
The Head of Business Development will be responsible for leading our clients business growth initiatives, focusing on sales, marketing, strategic partnerships, and client acquisition. This role requires a hands-on, proactive individual with a solid background in business development. You will have a proven track record in revenue generation, customer relationship management, and brand positioning. The position offers the opportunity to shape and scale our clients market presence, working closely with internal teams to align strategic objectives with operational execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to establish the brand in target sectors, including forestry, mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, consulting, and NGOs.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, drive client acquisition efforts, and develop proposals to secure strategic projects.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to align business development goals with overall company strategy and vision
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners, acting as the primary contact for key accounts.
- Lead negotiations, establish partnerships, and create templates and processes to optimize the client journey.
- Analyse external client needs and market insights to propose relevant solutions that enhance our clients service offerings.
- Lead the marketing strategy to enhance visibility and increase brand awareness in key markets.
- Oversee the creation of marketing collateral, campaigns, and an online presence that clearly communicates our clients unique value proposition.
- Implement outreach and networking activities to foster market presence in target sectors.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, and Operations teams to ensure business development activities align with the companys service offerings.
- Gather and communicate client feedback to inform product development, ensuring continuous improvement of the companys solutions.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in business development, sales, or a similar role, ideally within sectors such as forestry, mining, oil & gas, or environmental consulting. Experience with large-cap clients, top consulting firms, or NGOs is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships, closing high-value deals, and driving revenue growth.
- Experience in the consulting sector is advantageous, as our client often partners with clients in a subcontractor or strategic partner role.
- Proven ability to manage and develop company communications, including social media presence, web positioning, and marketing campaigns.
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field.
- Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are highly desirable.
- Flexibility to work remotely, with regular travel to the Stirling office.
- Frequent travel for market development and attendance at conferences may be required.
