About the job VP - Corporate Tax and International Taxation
Our client is a well-known large financial services organisation based in the UAE. They are looking to hire a Senior Manager of Corporate Tax and International Taxation at a VP level.
The job holder will be responsible for leading the implementation and management of the upcoming UAE Corporate Income Tax (CIT), BEPS Global Minimum Tax (GMT) regime for the company, ensuring strategic alignment with the bank's goals and providing expert guidance across all related tax matters.
Key Result Areas
- Lead and oversee the timely implementation of UAE CIT and GMT regime, working closely with consultants and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring full compliance with timelines and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure and maintain compliance with CIT, GMT, and other international tax reporting requirements, establishing controls and governance frameworks.
- Drive the formulation and execution of the group Corporate Income Tax strategy, while managing tax risk in line with the approved strategy and overseeing optimization efforts.
- Establish a consistent global tax position for the business entity across all jurisdictions, liaising with tax authorities, and managing CIT, GMT, and Transfer Pricing audit requirements with a focus on mitigating risk.
- Collaborate with the company's stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams to optimize the tax position of the group, ensuring compliance, minimizing exposure, and managing associated risks.
- Ensure strategic decision-making related to tax structure, identifying and implementing tax efficiencies across the group.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Subject matter expert in Corporate Income Tax, BEPS Pillar 2.0 framework, and associated regulations, capable of leading the development of internal tax policies and strategies.
- Deep understanding of Pillar 2 regulations, UAE CIT, and the interplay between corporate tax regimes across the company's presence countries.
- Strategic mindset with strong leadership skills, capable of visualizing scenarios to build and protect tax optimization opportunities and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
- 10+ years of experience working in a developed market (EU is preferred) on tax regulations, with an emphasis on leadership within a global tax function.
- Financial services industry experience preferred, with the ability to navigate sector-specific tax challenges.
