They are looking to add to their growing team in Dubai a Vice President of Disaster Recovery. The job holder must establish and guide a highly skilled, independent, and agile team capable of confidently and precisely responding to and resolving any business or technical crisis. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, the team will develop and implement well-planned, well-tested disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management strategies that ensure seamless operations across all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, mentor, and lead a top-performing disaster recovery team across multiple disciplines.
  • Hire technical members to develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery plans, procedures, and processes.
  • Establish and guide a technical team capable of conducting regular risk assessments, scenario planning, and proactive risk management activities.
  • Establish and guide a technical enough team that can continuously test, validate, and improve disaster recovery strategies to ensure peak readiness for any potential business disruptions.
  • Liaise with all business branches to guarantee seamless collaboration in times of crisis.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, trends, and regulatory requirements in disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Provide critical leadership and direction during crisis response activities.

Key Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience, including 5+ years of management experience in a mid-to-large-sized company in DR role.
  • University degree in computer science or a related field
  • Thorough knowledge of industry-standard information security and DR best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of chaos engineering to build systems that can withstand turbulent conditions.
  • Familiarity with legacy and modern application architectures and related technologies (web applications, service-oriented architecture, microservices), network protocols, and storage and backup services.
  • Hands-on experience in Linux and cloud computing (AWS, GCP, and other IAAS).
  • Experience with audits.
  • Highly adaptable to new and different technologies in a fast-changing business environment.
