Senior Manager - Storage Platforms Support - Emiratization

Our client is a well-known large financial services organisation based in the UAE. They are looking to add to their growing team a seasoned, self-motivated, professional and technically driven Senior Manager Storage Platforms Support.

The job holder will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Storage and SAN infrastructure, along with associated management and monitoring tools. This role involves leading initiatives to architect scalable and resilient SAN & Storage solutions for efficient SAN and storage infra management, capacity planning, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity solutions, Storage firmware upgrades, Storage automation, SAN Zoning, Performance management and monitoring. The Senior manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the capacity, reliability, performance, and security of the SAN Storage environment involving best practices.

Key Result Areas

• Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of Dell EMC Storage along with vMAX, Powerstore, ECS, PowerMAX SRDF replication, snapshots, RPA and RP4VM solutions, Netapp All flash, FAS storages, Cluster Interconnect switches, snap mirror, NAS Storage Management for CIFS and NFS, Brocade and Cisco SAN Directors and SAN Switches zoning with Servers and support the SAN Infrastructure needs.
• Implement and manage Storage suite components, including Netapp snap mirror, NAS solutions, DR Automation solutions, OCUM Netapp On command Unified Manager, Integrating with PAM Solution, monitoring solutions to streamline infrastructure management, automation, reporting and capacity management.
• IBM Storages Implementation, Configuration, Virtualization of Storages with both GUI and CLI administration skills
• Storage provisioning for File, Block and Object storages to automate routine tasks, workflows, and provisioning processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and reducing manual effort.
• Configure Storage and SAN to monitor the performance, capacity, and health of infrastructure, leveraging advanced analytics and predictive capabilities to identify potential issues and optimize resource utilization.
• Collaborate with Infra, Database and Application teams to design and implement SAN configurations, ensuring alignment with performance, capacity, and resilience requirements.
• Develop custom dashboards, Monthly reports, and alerts to provide visibility of SAN and storage environments, enabling proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts for Storage and SAN infrastructure, analyzing metrics, trends, and utilization patterns to optimize resource allocation and improve system performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team engineers and IT staff, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development in Storage and SAN technologies.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and product updates in cloud, and automation domains, evaluating their applicability and potential impact on the organization's IT strategy.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 8 to 10 years of hands-on engineering and administration experience on the technology & products mentioned above.
• Experience in managing and leading technical teams on Storage Platforms.
• Extensive knowledge and solid troubleshooting experience in the following areas
• Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing storage environments, SAN zoning, ISL configurations, Trunking, storage management using GUI and CLI & DR automation tools to manage storage infrastructure in large-scale enterprise environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Storage configurations, Snapshots, cloning, SRDF Time finder, SAN copy, open replicator, storage migrations, SRM and RP4VM including configuration, customization, and integration with VMWare ESXi, Azure Stack, Hyper-V, Windows Servers, Citrix & cloud computing platforms and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Proficiency in scripting using CLI interface for automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery, technical leadership, and driving innovation in virtualization and cloud solutions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
