Headquartered in Dubai, the platform spans 11 countries (9 in Africa) with 16+ mineral assets and a growing base of processing facilities across gold, bauxite/alumina, manganese ore and alloys, copper, lithium, iron ore and colored gemstones. The Trading Business is the platform's commercial and trading arm, responsible for moving physical commodities from mine and port to global markets - making world-class freight and logistics capability central to the platform's competitiveness and its sustainability agenda.
They are looking for a Superintendent Procurement & Supply to run buying, contracts, warehouses, stock, fuel and imports for the Minkébé mine site, making sure the right goods arrive on time, safely and at the best cost.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Security, Community & Environment
- Build a strong safety culture with the goal of zero serious injuries.
- Report incidents promptly and make sure they are fixed and followed up.
- Follow company safety, security and environmental rules and local laws.
People & Leadership
- Lead, train and develop the team, including growing local Gabonese talent.
- Set clear targets and coach staff and contractors to meet them.
Governance & Risk
- Ensure ethical conduct and compliance with company procedures, laws and permits.
- Identify risks and put controls in place to manage them.
Budget, Planning & Costs
- Set and manage the department budget and plan, and act on any overspend.
- Check supplier invoices, taxes and duties before payment and keep costs under control.
Procurement & Sourcing
- Set up buying systems and controls, and lead supplier selection and negotiation.
- Get competitive prices and avoid relying on single suppliers.
- Aim for around 75% of spend on agreed contract terms.
- Work with A2MP group procurement on strategic, high-value sourcing.
Contracts
- Set up contract and contractor management processes and a fair tender review process.
- Use standard contracts and work with Legal to reduce commercial risk.
- Make sure anything over $100k a year is on agreed contract terms, in line with Gabon and OHADA law.
Warehouses & Inventory
- Keep warehouses clean, safe, secure and well organised.
- Make sure stock is properly received, recorded, stored and issued only against approved paperwork.
- Keep the right levels of critical spares so production never stops, without overstocking.
- Run regular stock audits and remove old or damaged stock.
Fuel & Hazardous Goods
- Accurately track fuel received, stored and used, and prevent theft and contamination.
- Store chemicals and hazardous goods safely, with spill and fire controls in place.
Logistics & Imports
- Manage freight, customs agents and transport companies to get goods to site safely and on time.
- Track deliveries so operations always know when critical items will arrive.
- Ensure all imports meet Gabon Customs rules, with correct duties paid.
- Oversee safe and environmentally responsible barge and port operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 10 years of supply chain experience in natural resources (mining, infrastructure or similar).
- Strong background in procurement and supply chain at remote locations preferred.
- Strong with numbers.
- Strong French and English communication skills, written and spoken.
- Comfortable working at remote locations and the challenges this brings.
