Our client is a pan-African industrial infrastructure platform that develops and operates large-scale industrial and economic zones in partnership with governments. Its projects are designed to attract global manufacturers, strengthen local value chains, create employment, and support export-led industrial growth across multiple African markets.
Operating through public-private partnerships, the business brings together land development, infrastructure, utilities, investor acquisition, project execution, and long-term zone operations under one integrated model.
They are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to drive investor acquisition for their Tanzania industrial zone and support the Business Head in building the next line of leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive business development for the industrial zone, targeting manufacturers, industrial companies and investors looking to establish operations in Tanzania.
- Convert inbound leads generated through the Group's international network into investments within the zone.
- Manage complex, high-value transactions typically starting at USD 4–5M, with sales cycles of 6–12 months.
- Understand client requirements around land, infrastructure, utilities and operating setup, and structure the overall commercial proposition.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from lead qualification and investor engagement through negotiation and closure.
- Build relationships with corporates, investors, government stakeholders and strategic partners.
- Support the Business Head on market strategy and progressively take on broader leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications
- B.E./B. Tech from a strong engineering institution, followed by an MBA.
- MBA preferably from IIM A/B/C, XLRI, ISB or another leading global business school.
- Around 3-5 years of post-MBA experience, ideally in business development, strategy, consulting, infrastructure, industrials or complex B2B sales.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to manage long-cycle, high-value deals.
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on and comfortable working in an emerging-market environment.
- Open to relocating to Tanzania.
