Position: Chief Manufacturing Excellence, QE & IE

Job Objective

The role holder is responsible for leading change by engaging business leaders and all team members to adopt operational excellence as a way of doing business. Partner with leadership teams to develop and execute plans to support plants for continuous process improvements, introduction of next level technology, increase production profitability, enhance operational efficiency, improve quality and improve certain metrics on the shop floor. The key accountabilities will also include Process simplification and Value Stream Mapping, Horizontal deployment of Knowledge, Implementation of TPM / TQM / Lean Practices, Setting up Safety standards, Conceptualization, preparation and implementation of manufacturing excellence model.

Profile Overview

Experience of working with renowned manufacturing companies, preferably in textile industry

Proficient in driving standard manufacturing excellence model across the BU

In-depth knowledge of Manufacturing 4.0

Deft in managing manufacturing operations, quality excellence and industrial engineering

Proven ability to manage the processes and value chain

Should have penchant for process improvement. An innovative, loyal & result-orientated professional with strong planning, communication, interpersonal & negotiation skills; proven ability to surpass targets within given deadlines, regardless of pressure

Should have exhibited excellence in cementing healthy relationships among cross functional teams, thereby ensuring that the manufacturing processes are future proof and future ready

Should have strong strategic mindset with excellent application abilities


Key Responsibility and Accountability

Continuously monitor Value stream mapping and ensure usage of Lean tools & methodology in improvement projects

As Six Sigma change agent, provide expert advice and assistance to Green Belts. Train, support, develop and coach plant leadership teams from statistics to change management and to process design strategies

Develop plans to integrate the Six Sigma approach in to the business strategy and deliver enhancement cost and process improvements

Guide Plant leadership team to improve plant performance and optimize cash flow to support business growth by applying Manufacturing Excellence Methodologies

Monitor and ensure that teams are actively applying the Lean Process and Six-Sigma in a correct manner to solve chronic problems, remove waste and to plan new products.

Monitor the progress and ensure that each location is aligning projects with business objectives and the strategic plan

Work closely with cross functional teams in identifying Savings projects under categories like Lean, Six sigma, Technology roadmap, Material sourcing etc.

Coordinate closely with project leaders, ensure project schedule adherence, Validate project savings, Generate monthly savings report in alignment with finance

Drive plant 5S implementation roadmap and challenge for a national level 5S award

Motivate and drive towards Kaizen system across all the functions

Develop quality excellence model. Implement and monitor for seamless execution

Ensure application of industrial engineering in Time motion study, ECRS (Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange and Simplify) model, Work Balance Chart etc.

Guidance in budgeting exercise which includes Labour, Raw Material and Packing Material.

Driving Productivity by identifying projects related to Manpower and Low cost automation

Setting up safety standards as per established ISO guidelines

Ensuring framework to promote zero life zero work loss due to reasons pertaining to safety
