Position: Head SCM

Reports to: CEO 

Job Objective

The role holder is responsible to lead Central Supply chain functions, laying down and ensuring adherence to Sourcing, Production Planning, Warehouse & Logistics policies & processes for balancing product supply as per demand. Incumbent will also be responsible for constraint management & solutions to deliver Enterprise objectives

Profile Overview

  • Build the model on integrated Supply chain & propose enabling structure
  • Redefine & optimize the work flow across SCM value chain & digitize SCM processes
  • Alignment across Sales, Product & Supply chain to ensure timely availability of the product in the market as per Business calendar
  • Integrate sub functions of SCM to efficiently deliver the product on time (OTIF)
  • Continuously seek to optimize the balance between demand & supply of finished goods, inventory control & warehouse space utilization
  • Focused & continuous restructuring of Product, Warehouse, & Logistics costs to ensure margin improvement
  • Streamline intra Sourcing model eg. Fabric to Apparel Sourcing, Fabric to Export sourcing etc.
  • Manage requirement towards various seasons to build fast fashion (Festive season) in alignment with flash line

Key Responsibility and Accountability

Production Planning & MDM:

  • Collaborate with respective Production teams to execute seasonal, monthly & fortnightly planning related to Production
  • Ensure alignment of Production planning processes and policies with BU level strategic objectives
  • Manage the requirements of seasonal, monthly and fortnightly S&OP Process which may include -
  • -Calendar Finalization for production and adherence
  • -Resolve issues with BU Heads
  • Drive production and management of NOS (Never Out of Stock) product lines across all channels
  • Monitor the Production planning metrics and ensure the alignment between demand and supply
  • Drive MDM implementation & Production planning processes for sustainability

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Guide the Team on the sourcing of materials / products for the best possible cost ensuring the highest quality
  • Ensure Cross BU integration & alignment on internal sourcing processes
  • Vendor relationship management
  • Analyze fabric needs across the product categories & make recommendations to Product and Design as per availability of the fabric
  • Attend trade shows as appropriate to gain perspective on innovation and trends
  • Continuously study competitors and aspirational brands to better understand their strategy and price points
  • Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and process while managing the sourcing, inventory, purchasing, and material control
  • Manage inventory targets including fill rate to support the Business at optimum level
  • Collaborate with BU Heads to ensure consistency and alignment of all demand and supply plans

Warehouse & Logistics

  • Integrate warehouse Management system through leveraging Technology & economies of scale
  • Implement SOP for warehouse operations along with developing metrics to measure success
  • Set processes, systems to increase operational efficiencies and cost management
  • Ensure adherence to high ethical standards and legal frameworks and compliance as applicable to the company
  • Set the framework for external and internal audits for quality standards and inventory levels
  • Responsible for overall monitoring of safety, security and admin control in the warehouse
  • Continuously evaluate the logistics road map to optimize the TAT of product delivery to POS
  • Strategies around optimizing the logistics cost & minimizing the pilferage
  • Identify the best strategy to protect the product connectivity through insurance & system security

Stakeholder Management:

  • Manage productive and cordial relationship with Internal and External stakeholders
  • Represent organization to the Vendor network and promote the brand
  • Engage with Board/Leadership and build trust in Supply Chain and its governance

Professional Experience and Education

  • 20 years of career experience in a leadership role in SCM in Fabric or Apparel Industry
  • Experience in working in a matrix organization and working with multiple stakeholders
  • Having a hands on experience of managing a SCM operations and its entire value chain

An advanced degree in a related field, such as MBA in Operations or Masters in Fashion Technology (NIFT, INIFD, NID etc.) would be preferred
