Managing Director Polymer Industry

Responsibility

Strategic Leadership and Growth:

  • Define and execute the companys vision, mission, and long-term strategy in alignment with board directives.
  • Identify growth opportunities in bio-plastic markets across ASEAN
  • Expand the companys footprint by driving initiatives in sustainable product development and market penetration.

Business Development and Partnerships:

  • Forge strategic partnerships with government bodies, international organizations, and industry leaders to promote bio-plastic solutions.
  • Act as the face of the organization at conferences, trade shows, and industry events, showcasing innovative products and sustainable practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure funding and investment for growth initiatives, including green and sustainable projects.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee all aspects of operations, including manufacturing, P&L management, and resource allocation, to achieve financial and production targets.
  • Drive the implementation of quality standards, certifications (e.g., Halal-certified products), and regulatory compliance.
  • Champion innovative technologies, such as bio-plastic resins and low-carbon footprint products, to remain competitive in the market.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professionals across sales, marketing, operations, and R&D.
  • Build a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability to align with the companys sustainable growth objectives.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure teams are equipped to excel in a competitive industry.

Sustainability and Advocacy:

  • Advocate for sustainable materials and processes, emphasizing the benefits of bio-plastics over traditional fossil-fuel-based plastics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to advance environmental goals, including reducing carbon footprints and promoting circular economy principles.


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the plastics or bio-plastics industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record in business development, achieving market expansion, and building strategic alliances.
  • Strong understanding of bio-plastics production, sustainability trends, and global market dynamics.
  • Expertise in P&L management, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance.
