Electrical Engineer

Contract to start ASAP

Duration: 12 weeks with a possible extension.

Responsibilities

Design, assess, and oversee electrical engineering works across Council properties and facilities.

Prepare electrical specifications, drawings, schedules, reports, and technical documentation.

Manage and support planned, preventative, and reactive electrical maintenance programmes.

Inspect existing electrical installations and identify defects, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Provide technical advice to internal teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are delivered to the required quality, cost, programme, and safety standards.

Review and approve technical submissions, designs, quotations, and method statements where appropriate.

Carry out site inspections and provide technical recommendations and solutions.

Ensure electrical works comply with relevant legislation, British Standards, IET Wiring Regulations, health and safety requirements, and Council policies.

Support the investigation and resolution of electrical faults, failures, and technical issues.

Assist with the preparation and management of project budgets, programmes, and procurement documentation.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, projects, and compliance information.
