About the job Children Missing Education Officer
Contract to start ASAP
Duration: 26 weeks with a possible extension.
Responsibilities
Lead on the identification, tracking, and monitoring of Children Missing Education across the borough.
Conduct home visits and engage with families to discuss educational options and support pathways.
Work closely with schools to manage starters and leavers processes and ensure timely submission of information.
Liaise with colleagues across Children's Social Care, Housing, Early Help, Admissions, Elective Home Education, Council Tax and other council services.
Build effective partnerships with neighbouring authorities, government departments, and external agencies including the Home Office and Border Force.
Prepare and manage complex and confidential documentation, including safeguarding referrals, Fair Access referrals, court reports, and witness statements.
Maintain accurate case records and data using Synergy and Schools-to-Schools (S2S) systems.
Produce statistical reports, performance information, and management data to support service delivery.
Provide advice and guidance to parents, schools, professionals, and members of the public.
Promote best practice and contribute to the development of CME processes across the service.
