Carelink Operator

Contract to start ASAP until 13-12-26 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

To provide a professional, responsive and compassionate Carelink service to residents who use the Council's community alarm and telecare services.

The Carelink Operator will respond to emergency and welfare calls, assess situations, provide appropriate assistance, and coordinate emergency services, carers, family members or other support agencies when required.

Responsibilities

Monitor incoming Carelink, emergency and welfare calls and respond promptly and professionally.

Communicate effectively with service users, relatives, carers and external agencies.

Assess the nature and urgency of calls and take appropriate action in line with established procedures.

Contact emergency services, carers, family members, housing teams or other relevant agencies when necessary.

Provide reassurance and support to vulnerable or distressed service users.

Maintain accurate and confidential records of all calls, incidents and actions taken.

Follow safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection procedures.

Respond appropriately to falls, medical emergencies, welfare concerns, security alerts and other incidents.
