Commercial Plumber / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Contract to start ASAP

Duration: 12 weeks with a possible extension.

Responsibilities:

Carry out planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs and minor installation work on commercial plumbing, heating, hot and cold-water and mechanical systems.

Work on plant such as pumps, pressurisation units, expansion vessels, calorifiers, booster sets and valves, within your competence.

Identify root causes and recommend practical remedial work that prevents repeat faults.

Support water hygiene tasks, including TMV servicing, within your training and competence.

Record clear job updates, findings, materials and next steps on the mobile maintenance system.

Work safely in occupied buildings and communicate well with premises staff and the wider M&E team.

Support and mentor a plumbing apprentice by demonstrating safe working methods, explaining tasks and checking their work as appropriate. The amount of time spent together will vary with operational needs.
