Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated IT Operations Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting critical IT infrastructure, ensuring system uptime, and responding to incidents in a timely manner. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor IT systems, networks, and applications using monitoring tools to ensure availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues related to servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments.
  • Respond to incidents, alerts, and service requests, ensuring efficient resolution within SLAs.
  • Collaborate with different IT teams (Network, Security, DevOps, etc.) to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system updates, including patching, backups, and security audits.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for continuous improvement.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and optimize system performance using scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Ensure security compliance by monitoring vulnerabilities, threats, and unauthorized access.
  • Participate in shift-based operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in IT operations, network/system administration, or NOC environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (SPLUNK, SCOM, Zabbix, Instant, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Open Text, Remedy, etc.).
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
  • Understanding of IT Problem Management and incident response procedures.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift and handle high-pressure situations.

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as ITIL.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, VCF.)
  • Familiarity with log management and Ticketing systems.
