Location: Brussels (Hybrid – minimum 3 days on-site per week)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Telephony System Engineer & Technical Lead to lead the design, modernization, and operational management of enterprise IP telephony infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with technical leadership, supporting both infrastructure transformation projects and day-to-day operational excellence.
The successful candidate will serve as the technical authority for telephony solutions, ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available communication services while guiding engineering teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Design and define enterprise telephony infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure architects, system engineers, solution designers, and security teams.
- Lead the modernization and evolution of IP telephony platforms.
- Act as the technical lead for telephony-related projects.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions meet security, scalability, resilience, and performance requirements.
Operations & Support
- Maintain the stability, availability, and performance of telephony services.
- Provide technical leadership during incident resolution and root cause analysis.
- Own problem management activities to eliminate recurring issues.
- Drive continuous improvements across the telephony environment.
- Support operational teams with advanced troubleshooting and technical expertise.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years' experience with IP Telephony solutions.
- Minimum 7 years' experience as a Solution Designer.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Technical Lead on development or infrastructure projects.
- Recent experience (within the last 2 years) delivering IP Telephony projects.
- Experience coordinating technical teams in development or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of:
- SIP and VoIP technologies
- Networking (Routing & Switching)
- Firewall management
- Enterprise telephony platforms
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Fluent in French or Dutch, with a good passive understanding of the other language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the Utilities or Energy sector.
- Technical design experience.
- Programming, testing, and debugging experience.
- Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls.
- Experience installing and configuring Mitel / MiCollab.
- Experience with Solidus.
- Experience with Storavox voice recording solutions.
