We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Control Advisor (Risk Management & Planning Management) to join a large-scale infrastructure and coastal management programme based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant projects focused on maintaining and improving coastal infrastructure, while providing strategic guidance on risk management and project planning within a multidisciplinary project environment.

About the Role

Working within an Integrated Project Management (IPM) environment, you will be responsible for both Risk Management and Planning Management activities. You will provide critical project control information to project teams and management, ensuring effective decision-making, governance, and project delivery.

As a trusted advisor, you will facilitate workshops, maintain project schedules, oversee risk registers, and support management reporting. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and ensuring project teams remain aligned with programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Organize and facilitate periodic risk workshops with project teams.
  • Lead challenge sessions to assess and evaluate project risks.
  • Maintain and update risk registers within organizational systems.
  • Monitor implementation and effectiveness of mitigation measures.
  • Produce monthly risk reports and dashboards.
  • Contribute to management steering reports and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities and emerging risks across projects.

Planning Management

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Facilitate planning sessions and coordinate planning activities.
  • Produce milestone reports and planning dashboards.
  • Monitor project capacity and resource requirements.
  • Support management reporting and project governance processes.
  • Provide planning insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in both Risk Management and Planning Management within infrastructure projects.
  • Bachelor's degree (HBO level or equivalent) in a relevant field such as:
    • Business Administration
    • Economics
    • Finance
    • Engineering
    • Technical Management
  • Strong knowledge of the Integrated Project Management (IPM) model and project control methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  • Fluent Dutch language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to be present on-site in Rotterdam on designated team days.

Preferred Experience

  • Facilitating risk workshops and maintaining risk registers.
  • Organizing planning sessions and managing project schedules.
  • Understanding of project control disciplines and interface management.
  • Experience within large infrastructure, construction, or maintenance environments.
  • Knowledge of public-sector project delivery environments.
  • Experience developing and managing resource plans.

Working Arrangement

  • Hybrid working model.
  • Fixed team day on Thursdays.
  • Partial office presence on Tuesdays.
  • Remote working possible on other days.
  • Office location: Rotterdam, Netherlands.
