Senior Business Analyst – Hospital ADT & Epic Prelude Migration
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the functional analysis, feasibility assessment and migration planning of Hospital Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) workflows as part of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) transformation.
The consultant will assess the current hospital ADT processes, define the target workflows in Epic Prelude, identify functional and technical gaps, and develop a practical migration and cut-over strategy. Strong knowledge of the Belgian healthcare ecosystem is essential, particularly regarding regulatory requirements, patient identification, insurance eligibility and healthcare interoperability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional and business analysis of end-to-end ADT workflows across Emergency, Inpatient, Day Hospital and Outpatient services.
- Facilitate workshops with admissions teams, billing departments, IT stakeholders and other business users.
- Document current-state and target-state processes, business rules and functional requirements.
- Assess Epic Prelude capabilities against Belgian healthcare requirements.
- Perform detailed fit/gap and feasibility analyses and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Identify functional, technical and regulatory dependencies and risks.
- Analyse critical workflows such as emergency admissions, patient identification, patient safety and census management.
- Define business continuity measures for critical processes.

Assess required integrations with:
- eID and ISI+ cards
- National Registry services
- MyCareNet and mutual insurance organizations
- eHealth services and regional/national healthcare platforms
- HL7, FHIR and API-based integrations
- Collaborate with Epic specialists to assess Prelude/Grand Central capabilities and Belgian localization.
- Develop a migration and cut-over strategy, including phasing, dual-run requirements, data conversion/remediation and critical-path dependencies.
- Provide clear recommendations and executive-level summaries to project leadership.
Key Deliverables
- Functional Analysis Dossier / Target Blueprint covering ADT processes and integration requirements.
- Fit/Gap & Feasibility Matrix with identified gaps, risks and recommended solutions.
- Migration & Rollout Plan covering implementation phases, dependencies, data migration, dual-run approach and cut-over strategy.
- Documentation of key business processes, requirements, integrations and risks.
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong experience as a Senior Business Analyst in healthcare IT.
- Proven experience with hospital ADT processes and patient administration workflows.
- Strong knowledge of the Belgian healthcare sector, including RIZIV/INAMI requirements and insurance eligibility processes.
- Hands-on knowledge of MyCareNet, eHealth services, eID/ISI+ and healthcare interoperability.
- Strong understanding of HL7 and FHIR and healthcare integration mechanisms.
- Experience with EHR/EMR or Patient Administration System (PAS) implementations or migrations.
- Experience performing business process analysis, business modelling and feasibility studies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and system integration.
- Experience working with multiple business, clinical, technical and vendor stakeholders.
- Excellent workshop facilitation, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear business solutions.
Desirable
- Previous experience with Epic EMR.
- Specific experience with Epic Prelude / Grand Central.
- Familiarity with ZORGI OAZIS.
- Experience with Belgian hospital system migrations or implementations.

- English: Full professional proficiency
- Dutch or French: Nice to have
Working Arrangement
- Duration: 6–8 consecutive weeks
- Location: Zaventem, Belgium
- Hybrid: On-site presence required for workshops and steering meetings; remote work possible for analysis and documentation.
