Senior Solution Architect (Dutch Speaking)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to design and guide enterprise-scale IT solutions within a complex digital transformation environment. You will work closely with enterprise, data, GIS, DevOps, business analysis, and project management teams to ensure that technology solutions align with strategic architecture and long-term business objectives.

This role is ideal for an architect who can bridge business and technology, translate requirements into scalable solution architectures, and provide architectural governance across multiple initiatives.

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid)
Start Date: October 2026
Contract Duration: Until July 2027 (with possible extension)
Workload: Full-time (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for complex IT environments.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable IT solutions.
• Convert enterprise architecture principles and reference architectures into practical solution designs.
• Define and maintain application, integration, and technology architectures.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, data architects, GIS architects, DevOps engineers, business analysts, and project managers.
• Ensure architectural consistency across multiple projects and applications.
• Develop and maintain architectural standards, principles, guardrails, and Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).
• Present and defend architectural decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.
• Support digital transformation initiatives involving modern technologies and platforms.
• Provide architectural guidance throughout project lifecycles.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Solution Architect in complex enterprise IT environments.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a specialist architect (e.g., Application, Infrastructure, Security, Network, ERP, ECM, Data Warehouse/BI, or Enterprise Architecture).
• Strong experience in:
  • Application Architecture

  • Technology Architecture
• Proven ability to:
  • Translate business requirements into architectural solutions.
  • Apply enterprise architecture principles to solution design.
  • Manage and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with architecture modelling frameworks and tools:
  • TOGAF
  • ArchiMate
  • UML
  • Sparx Enterprise Architect
• Solid understanding of enterprise business processes.
• Knowledge of project management concepts including planning, estimation, coordination, timelines, and costs.
• Native or near-native Dutch (CEFR C2) is mandatory.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and CI/CD principles.
• Experience with GIS, geospatial data, or geospatial applications.
• Experience establishing architecture standards, principles, governance, and ADRs.
• Experience ensuring architectural alignment across multiple parallel projects.
• Broad architectural knowledge across infrastructure, applications, security, data, and business processes, with deep expertise in at least one domain.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid working model.
• Minimum 1 day per week at the Brussels headquarters.
• Additional 1 day per week at a regional office.
