Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Specialist Process Management to help establish a clear, practical and consistent approach to process management within a public-sector organisation.

You will contribute to the development of process governance, methodologies and standards while also working hands-on with teams to analyse, document and optimise business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map end-to-end business processes together with relevant teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify needs, bottlenecks, dependencies, customer perspectives and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyse and optimise cross-functional processes, including financial processes, employee onboarding/offboarding and case management.
  • Facilitate workshops with business and project stakeholders.
  • Model processes using BPMN and clearly document process steps, roles, controls and information flows.
  • Identify inefficiencies, duplication, unclear responsibilities and unnecessary process steps.
  • Guide teams in implementing process improvements.
  • Contribute to a pragmatic process management methodology and common standards.
  • Support governance around process-oriented working.
  • Share knowledge and help increase organisational maturity in process management.
  • Lead and coordinate process-related projects and improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a public-sector environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and guiding projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with BPMN and digital tools for process modelling, documentation and collaboration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience facilitating and guiding teams in process optimisation.
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in process optimisation, process documentation and process improvement.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of process management methodology, terminology, organisational roles and processes.
  • Experience facilitating workshops.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio is an advantage.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent through experience.
  • Dutch at CEFR C2 level is mandatory.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within the Flemish Government.
  • Experience in environments involving organisational change, business process improvement and cross-functional projects.
  • Experience working with complex processes involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Visio and other process modelling/documentation tools.

Working Arrangements

  • Full-time assignment.
  • Remote work is possible.
  • Minimum 1 day per week from the main office in Brussels-North.
  • An additional 1 day per week from a Flemish Administrative Centre of choice, such as Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Leuven, Hasselt or Brussels-North.
