Key purpose:

A leader in the Insurance industry is looking for a dynamic, driven and passionate individual to spier head and develop the HR Team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with developing and implementing new policies and procedures based on the company's requirements and build a department as the company is growing at a rapid pace. 

Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer you will join a dynamic, goal-driven team that seeks to change the world and the insurance industry.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • End-to-end Human Resource Management function.
  • Development of an employee-orientated company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and high performance.
  • Drafting, implementing and enforcing employee-related policies and procedures.
  • Recruiting of staff, performing background screening, interviews,
    engagement with recruiters, sourcing of candidates and job specifications.
  • Staff retention and top talent strategy and implementation.
  • Performance review processes and monitoring of employee productivity, attitudes and performance results.
  • Implement training programmes.
  • Develop a Code of Conduct requiring professional behaviour at all times.
  • Human resources administration such as management of employee files.
  • Employee and contractor onboarding.
  • Provide company-wide communications.
  • Employee safety, wellness, welfare, and health.
  • Provide assistance with implementing any human resources-related software systems.
  • Represent the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations where required.
  • Industrial relations management, including disciplinary processes.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts including generating and sending contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.

Qualifications and responsibilities:

  • Matric
  • Degree in Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations and Organisational Psychology essential
  • Postgraduate qualification or Masters Qualification in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Human Resource Manager role.
  • 5 - 8 years experience in a HR Generalist role
  • Proven experience IR, Labour Relations, CCMA, Dispute Resolution, Performance Management and the like.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with applications such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
