Key purpose:

A position has arisen in our KZN branch for a Key Accounts Manager. The successful applicant will report to the Sales Executive for the company

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day calling on customers and management of identified key accounts
  • Day-to-day management of customer needs through forecast/ demand management
  • Managing and co-ordinating all relevant customer accounts
  • Completing all documentation relevant to customer accounts and sales transactions
  • Interfacing with Production and Planning and Design departments for benefit of Key Accounts
  • Implementing and maintaining effective FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 operating procedures and work instructions
  • Developing effective relationships with new and current Key Account Customers
  • Monitoring competitor activity proactively and implement effective strategies for countering competitor activity
  • Managing small team of wage (line) staff effectively
  • Presenting professional price proposals in writing to all customers
  • Ensuring all customer requirements and complaints are communicated appropriately and dealt with timeously
  • Ensuring that obsolete stock is managed effectively and that obsolescence costs are minimised

Qualifications and experience:

  • Have 3 5 years sales experience
  • Be in possession of a marketing, sales, or supply chain qualification (Advantageous)
  • Have a proven track record in sales/ customer service
  • Analytical ability
  • Experience in Manufacturing essential
  • An understanding of the Plastic / Packaging industry would be advantageous
  • Computer Literacy (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT)
  • A high need for achievement
  • Self-discipline and driven to succeed
  • An ability to build relationships quickly and effectively 

Must haves:

  • Must have drivers license 
  • Must be able to work independently and have proven sales/customer service track record
  • Well-spoken and presented
