About the job Dispatch Clerk

Key purpose:

The dispatch clerk is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods and products from our warehouse to our clients or any other location specified by the company. 

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that orders are filled and shipped on time, and that the correct items are included in each shipment. 

This includes but is not limited to preparing shipping documents, scheduling deliveries, and coordinating with other departments or third-party logistics providers. 

This role requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as well as good communication and customer service skills.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Organizes the dispatch of goods with completed documents.
  • Maintains prescribed records of goods received and dispatched.
  • Check shipping documents and verifies cargo to be released.
  • Receives details of outgoing cargo and arranges bookings of stock to deliver it to clients.
  • Ensures outgoing shipments are in good condition and meet specifications.
  • Perform other duties e.g. filing, scanning, copying, collating, record keeping.
  • Receive and verify invoices, proof of deliveries, warehouse transfer for goods and services.

Qualifications and responsibilities:

  • Matric
  • Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management
  • 3 years work experience required
